Description

rocky's matcha is thrilled to offer our signature blend of houjicha from award winning producer, Mr. Kiyoharu Tsuji. Houjicha, sometimes spelled as "hojicha" is a roasted green tea that contains less caffeine than sencha or matcha.

Our signature houjicha uses stems and leaves from Tsujiki's tencha and is slow roasted at a relatively low temperature to preserve the flavor and taste of the tea.

    Nice roasted tea with sweet notes

    Love the Hojicha from Rocky. One of the best Holicha I had. It’s nice drinking it hot or cold. Lately, I have been blending the hojicha with oat milk and maple syrup. Pour it in a glass jar with chia seeds. Make sure to shake it and leave it over night. It gets a little thick like pudding/custard texture, which makes a nice dessert.

    Good but easily overpowered

    I love this hojicha! It's very smooth and subtle. Tastes roasty, earthy, and nutty at the same time. Still yet to find a perfect ratio to make latte with because it gets easily overpowered. So far I tried the recipe in the card and the 1:10:30 ratio with different milk, all of them drowned the hojicha flavor. I think this is best with just water. (But that's just my skill issue, still love the product. Would love some tips though!)
