Each ceramic bowl is handmade; created with stoneware and glazed in “Rocky’s Blue”. Designed for whisking and pouring matcha.
All pieces are food and dishwasher safe. Due to the handmade nature, all pieces will vary slightly.

Let's just start with what you're here for; yes this is a great product! First impressions: vibrant color and larger than expected depth wise. This bowl is not a tradition Chawan shape (clearly) it has more depth and as a different review touched upon yes it doesn't has as much floor space to wisk around if you're used to the wider bottom of a traditional Chawan. After testing this bowl and getting used to the new factors I actually love it- I can vigorously whisk in a small space and find I have better control with the shape of this bowl. When I tell you this bowl has given me the best foam! The bowl retains a good amount of heat and leads to no clumps whether you prefer a foamy whisk or a paste, which is hard to find! So far out of 8 Chawan Bowls from small businesses and a few purchased in Japan this is my second favorite and my number on from here in the states.
Notable mention, I had an issue with my order and Danielle with customer service was super quick to resolve it. Rocky's not only has great products but great customer support. Shoutout Rocky's

The color is really nice but the base of this chawan is really wide. It makes whisking single serving matcha difficult because the water will be so shallow. The spout is also too narrow and causes a lot of spilling. Also note this is a lot bigger than traditional Japanese chawan. It’s slightly smaller than a ramen bowl 🍜
